International projects

Welcome to www.qualitec-aachen.de

QualiTec German Limited - the name stands for international activities
Since the early 1960ies, the Aachen Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades qualified thousands of people from all over the world. They completed technical training, management training or were trained as consultants. Responsible for these business activities is now QualiTec German Limited. In the last years, most of the training measures were performed in form of "train-the-trainer"- programmes; i.e. that the participants not only develop expert competence in the training course, but also are supported in additional courses to build up pedagogical competence. Thus, in many countries of the world, experts having successfully been trained in Aachen train other people professionally in their profession.

Why "training made in Germany"?

Vocational training "made in Germany" is different!

  • It does not only prepare for individual work places. It offers a broad basis of skills, knowledge and competencies to enable the skilled workers to fulfil all requirements at any work place in his profession!
  • It is highly systematic based on stately recognized training regulations which have the status of laws. And the industry takes decisive influence on defining the contents  of the training regulations.
  • It is strictly non-academic. It does not focus on a text book. In the focus stands practice, i.e.  the professional handling of typical work processes as they are required in industry!
  • It stands in contrast to training courses at universities. Vocational training "made in Germany" is - in the first place - practical training!
  • Theory has an auxiliary function! In vocational training "made in Germany", theory serves to solve practical problems!
  • It does not start with theory, it does not focus on theory.
  • It takes practical experience into account and starts with typical job requirements in industry! It always refers to typical work processes!
  • It guarantees  continuous adaption to technical and economical developments!

This is the philosophy behind the training offers of the QualiTec German Limited.

QualiTec German Limited - expert training in Germany

Training courses on different levels (apprenticeship, journeymen/skilled workers, master craftsman, bachelor in crafts and of course according to any customers' specifications) are offered in:

  •  electrical engineering / electronics
  •  mechanical engineering
  •  CNC
  •  PLC
  •  automation techniques / IT
  •  welding (test labaratories available) and plastic processing
  •  car mechanics
  •  mechatronics
  •  energy and environment techniques
  •  building trades and finishing trades
  •  economics / management training
  •  educational theory for technicians
  •  design in crafts and trades
     etc.

According to the German philosophy behind training courses in technical fields, expert knowledge must always:

  • be based on both: on theory as well as on practical experience,
  • be presented in a non-academic way in form of practical training in which theory is mainly offered in contexts (project work),
  • be understood as a synonym for a broad basis of skills and knowledge so that skilled workers are enabled to adapt quickly to complex issues and new requirements in their job,
  • be oriented at practical tasks in real work places,
  • prove the ability to plan, to perform, and to control entire professional action independently,
  • include the ability to apply acquired skills and knowledge to practical tasks and typical practical problems.

Chile

Priority objective in the partnership with the Camara de Comercio, Industria, Servicios y Turismo de Iquique, Chile, was to strengthen the small and medium-sized enterprises in the north of Chile by an improved and enlarged offer of consultancy and vocational training. Partner in the project that started in 1999 and ended in 2007 has been the German SEQUA.

Indien

The European programme ECCP was used from 2003 to 2006 to develop and perform practical training in the field of solar energy. Partners were the Solar Institute of the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, the Vocational Training Centre ZAWM Eupen in Belgium and The Energy and Resources Institute TERI in Bangalore, India.

Libanon

On behalf of the GOPA Institute, vocational teachers from Beirut were inducted into the didactics of practical project-based and action-oriented training in the field of motorcar mechatronics.

Malaysia I

In 2013, the Renewables Academy RENAC, Berlin, asked the QualiTec German Limited to perform a training in Solar Technologies for the Selangor Human Resource Development Center SHRDC, Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia. A QualiTec expert in Solar Technologies was sent to Kuala Lumpur and performed a practice-oriented training in photovoltaics.

Malaysia II

In 2013, a confederation of training centres from all over Malaysia under the leadership of the Selangor Human Resource Development Center SHRDC, Kuala Lumpur, contacted the ICON-Institute to develop a training in mechatronics. The ICON-Institute commissioned the QualiTec German Limited to develop and perform a tailor-made training of Malaysian instructors in the field of mechatronics. This train-the-trainer course was partially held in Kuala Lumpur and partially in Aachen. It ended in December 2013. The cooperation will be continued.

Malaysia III

In 2015, the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centers placed again the order to the QualiTec German Limited to train instructors of the training centers of the Federation. One group was trained in mechatronics, another group in precision machining. Both trainings were started in Malaysia and then continued in the BGE Aachen. All in all, 27 participants passed a practical and theoretical exam.

Malaysia IV

In 2016, the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centers sent again to groups of instructors of the training centers of the Federation to get an advanced training in training centers of the Aachen Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades. In the BGE, 10 instructors were trained in the field of electrical engineering, in th TraCK Dueren, 12 instructors were trained in the automotive sector. Both groups participated in a preparation course in Malaysia, were then trained for five weeks in Germany and finally all passed a practical and theoretical exam.

Taiwan

DEinternational Taiwan Ltd. commissioned the QualiTec German Limited to evaluate the training offer of the Central Vocational Training Center (CTC), Taichung, Taiwan, in the field of metal engineering. Three QualiTec experts were sent to Taichung to evaluate the workshops, equipment, curricula and trainer qualifications in the field of metal engineering and CNC. They also presented the Dual System of initial vocational training of Germany and performed training modules “made in Germany”.

Thailand

In the beginning of 2017, 18 lecturers of the Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Thailand, came to the BGE of the Aachen Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades for an advanced training over 10 weeks in the field of mechatronics. They want to enforce the industrial development in Thailand by acquiring practical skills which they later want to transfer to their students in Thailand.

The reputation of vocational trqaining "made in Germany" in Thailand is excellent, while vocational training in Thailand is rather underrepresented.

It is the very first time in the long tradition of international projects of the Aachen Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades that a practical training is performed only for academics.

Trinidad + Tobago

Within the twinning project with the MIC in Trinidad & Tobago, human resource management trainings as well as master craftsman trainings were tailor-made developed and performed in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and in building trades. This programm which started in 1994 has been carried out in co-operation with the ICON Institute. In 2009 and 2010, the twinning project was continued with a training in mechatronics. In 2013, a training in Efficient Energy Management and Solar Technology was performed in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

Vietnam

The Aachen Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades together with five other training providers from all over Germany has formed a consortium and initiated a pilot project in which cooperations with Vietnamese training providers should be built up. The consortium wanted to develop and test a market entry strategy with the objective to implement practical vocational training ("Made in Germany") in Vietnam.

This pilot project was supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It started in the beginning of 2009 and ended in 2012.
